If you went to the About Me page, you probably read that I am enrolled in the Institute of Integrative Nutrition and just received certification as an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach.  So why would you want to work with me? Is being a Health Coach the same as being a nutritionist? A dietician? A life coach? Let’s dig in!

“A Health Coach inspires transformation in all areas of life!”

  • Health coaches don’t diagnose, treat, heal, or prescribe.

If you are dealing with a serious ailment, then it’s best to work with your doctor.  On the other hand, if you are looking for guidance, support and accountability to gradually improve your diet and lifestyle, then a Health Coach is for you.

  • A Health coach will not put you on most popular diet plans.

At the Institute of Integrative Nutrition we are strongly stressed about bio-individuality. How one person’s food is another person’s poison. One diet will not work for all. It will not work the same for a man and a woman, for a boy and a man, a pregnant woman and a grandmother, it may not work for you this season, or even work again if it worked for you 15 years ago. Yes, unprocessed, wholesome organic foods are strongly recommended, but it’s not the only thing that is important. What nourishes you off the plate is just as important.

  • There are Primary and Secondary foods.

The foods we love to indulge in are all secondary. Primary foods are our relationships, career, physical exercise, and even spirituality. There is something called “The Circle of Life”, and by examining where you are in your life in different areas, can help you find balance and stability, and in turn, ideal weight.

Why do I want to be a Health Coach?

We are living a Global Health Crisis. People are eating in a way that has adverse effects on their health. More and more people are on medication, more adults and children are obese and dealing with diabetes. I want to become healthier myself, get my kids and family to try new healthy foods. I want to align my personal goals for health and self-development with my new career. As a Health Coach, I would empower and guide you to transform your mind and body, and find balance in your life.
